The Vermont men’s basketball team is gearing up for a cross-town exhibition matchup against Saint Michael’s on October 30th. Fans can tune in to the radio broadcast on the Vermont Sports Network to catch all the action. Additionally, the Windjammer is encouraging fans to bring in non-perishable food items to benefit the South Burlington Food Shelf, with a chance to win gift cards in exchange. The Purple Knights of Saint Michael’s, who were picked first in this year’s NE10 Preseason Coaches’ Poll, are looking to build on their success from last season.
Meanwhile, the Catamounts are aiming for a historic four-peat in the America East Championship, with defending champions Shamir Bogues and TJ Long returning to lead the team. Vermont was selected as the preseason favorite in the conference poll, receiving eight of nine first-place votes. Bogues and Long also received Preseason All-Conference honors, cementing their status as key players for Vermont this season.
In addition to the returning players, the Catamounts have added six newcomers to their roster for the 2024-25 campaign, including transfers Shy Odom and Gavin Perryman, as well as four first-year players. With a mix of experienced veterans and promising newcomers, Vermont is set to make a strong run for another championship season. Fans can catch all the action at Patrick Gym and support the team throughout the season.
