Local filmmakers featured at the Made Here Film Festival

Filmmakers and film enthusiasts in the New England and Quebec region come together in Burlington every year for the Made Here Film Festival. This festival is the only competitive festival in the area dedicated solely to films made by individuals in New England and Quebec. Organized by the Vermont International Film Festival and Vermont Public, the event is set to take place from April 24-27, 2025, at the Burlington Beer Company.

The festival features over 50 films, including both feature-length and short films, along with panel discussions, workshops, special events, and receptions. Executive Director of VTIFF, Steve MacQueen, emphasizes the unique approach taken at this festival, showcasing local talent and creativity. Local Vermont filmmakers Natalie Jones and Lukas Huffman also share their insights into the inspiration behind their short films, adding a personal touch to the event.

The Made Here Film Festival aims to highlight the diverse and vibrant film community in the region while providing a platform for filmmakers to showcase their work and connect with audiences. The festival kicks off on April 16, 2025, with a live broadcast at noon followed by a rebroadcast in the evening. For questions, comments, or tips, attendees are encouraged to reach out to the organizers via their social media channels or website.
