The Vermont Catamount men’s track team competed in the Friar Invitational hosted by Providence College. Despite cold weather and rain, the team put on some solid performances against top athletes from the northeast. Associate head coach Joe Gingras praised the team for their efforts, noting strong showings from athletes like Kenny and Will in the 5k. Bennett and Jacob also had good season-opening marks in the Steeplechase event. Jameson ran an excellent race, earning a top 3 all-time spot for the team. Despite the challenging conditions, the team showed their competitive spirit and talent at the meet.
The Catamounts will be back in action on Sunday at the UMass Commonwealth Invitational.
