The Cascade Public School district is once again trying to pass a technology levy in this year’s election after the previous levy expired in 2023. The superintendent, Levi Collins, is proposing two $75,000 levies for the elementary and high schools to fund technology. Collins emphasized the importance of passing the levy to avoid dipping into funds meant for educating children. If the levy passes, it will eliminate technology fees currently charged to families, which are $30 per elementary student and $50 per high school student. The election is scheduled for May 6th, with ballots being mailed to voters on April 21st. The district is urging voters to support the technology levy to ensure continued access to essential technology resources for students.
