As the winter sports season comes to a close, athletes in our region are getting ready to switch gears for the spring season. WCAX sports director Jack Fitzsimmons highlights the big winners from winter sports and gives us a preview of the promising teams to watch this spring. From basketball and hockey to skiing, it’s time to say goodbye and make way for baseball, softball, and lacrosse.
In addition to sports news, Seven Days food and drink writer Jordan Barry shares updates on restaurant openings and closures, as well as local finalists for the prestigious James Beard Awards. The broadcast also features interviews with Vermont’s Poetry Out Loud competition winner, Mapenzi Selemani from Winooski High School, and Vermont Teacher of the Year for 2025, Caitlin MacLeod-Bluver.
