Vermont’s first alumni team, the “Green Mountain Men,” will be competing in The Basketball Tournament (TBT) for the first time. The team, led by Assistant GM Jake Marsh, Assistant GM/Coach Ernie Duncan, and Head Coach Derryk O’Grady, features former alumni such as Aaron Deloney, Robin Duncan, Dylan Penn, Ileri Ayo-Faleye, and Drew Urquhart.
The TBT, now in its 12th year, includes 64 teams competing in 8 regional locations. The winner of the tournament receives a cash prize of $1 million dollars. The Green Mountain Men will be playing in the Syracuse regional, with games set to begin on July 18th. Tickets will go on sale on May 6th, with games being televised live on Fox Sports.
This marks a significant milestone for Vermont’s basketball program as they make their debut in the TBT with a strong roster of alumni players. The team is sure to bring excitement and competitiveness to the tournament as they vie for the top prize.
