Local Vermont and NE NY chapter solicits local support for global WishMakers Wanted campaign

The Make-A-Wish Foundation is calling on individuals to become “WishMakers” for World Wish Month in April. The organization stresses the urgent need for support as a child is diagnosed with a critical illness every 20 minutes in the U.S. Wishes granted by the organization have been shown to improve health outcomes for children. On average, Make-A-Wish grants 89 wishes a day around the world thanks to donations and support.

“WishMakers” are described as everyday people who contribute their time, talent, or resources to make life-changing wishes a reality. While there are many WishMakers already involved, more are needed to help Make-A-Wish reach its goal of granting wishes to every eligible child. The “WishMakers Wanted” campaign, now in its second year, aims to recruit additional volunteers, fundraisers, donors, corporate partners, and community supporters.

Since its founding in 1980, the Make-A-Wish Foundation has granted over 615,000 wishes globally. The Capital Region falls under the Vermont and Northeast New York chapter of Make-A-Wish. World Wish Month is an opportunity for individuals to make a difference in the lives of children facing critical illnesses by becoming WishMakers for the cause.
