Chihuahua, Mexico – Following a successful trade mission led by Governor Maru Campos last October, officials from Prodech have been working to strengthen ties with Taiwanese companies Foxconn, Wistron, and Pegatron. These companies are already established in the state and are interested in expanding their investments.
Meetings have been held to focus on bolstering the local value chain, promoting the expansion of operations, and creating new job opportunities in sectors like advanced manufacturing and emerging technologies. One key objective is to attract back end processes such as ATP (Advanced Test and Packaging) related to semiconductors. By doing so, Chihuahua aims to solidify its status as a national leader in this sector and reinforce its position as a hub for highly specialized technology.
In addition to these efforts, the Ministry of Innovation and Economic Development (SIDE) recently introduced the Training and Education Program in Taiwan. This program is designed to enhance the knowledge of young people from Chihuahua in areas like semiconductors, electric vehicles, and automation.
Overall, these initiatives are part of a broader strategy to bolster the technology industry in Chihuahua, attract critical investments, and cultivate specialized talent. By creating a favorable ecosystem for innovation and industrial growth, Chihuahua is positioning itself as a key player in the global technology market.
