In a chilling incident reminiscent of a horror movie, a babysitter in Kansas found a man hiding under a child’s bed while checking for “monsters.” The babysitter initially attempted to reassure the scared child by showing that there was nothing under the bed, only to come face-to-face with the man. An altercation ensued, during which one child was knocked over, and the man fled the scene. Authorities were called to the home in Great Bend where the incident took place, and the suspect was identified as Martin Villalobos Jr., who had been ordered to stay away from the property under a protection from abuse order. Despite initial searches, Villalobos was not found until the following morning when he was spotted by law enforcement and tried to flee but was captured after a brief foot pursuit. Villalobos was arrested and charged with aggravated kidnapping, aggravated burglary, aggravated battery, child endangerment, felony obstruction of a law enforcement officer, and violation of a protection from abuse order. He is currently being held on a $500,000 bond. It is uncertain at this time if he has retained legal representation.
