Pennsylvania city worker accused of falsely reporting noose on her desk and accused of placing it herself

A city employee in Allentown, Pennsylvania, LaTarsha Brown, reported finding a noose on her desk in January, prompting an investigation. However, the investigation revealed that Brown had allegedly placed the noose there herself. Despite initially cooperating with the investigation, Brown later requested for it to be discontinued. DNA testing conducted by the Pennsylvania State Police crime lab found that Brown’s DNA matched the DNA on the noose. As a result, Brown was charged with filing false reports to law enforcement and tampering with physical evidence. It is unclear if Brown has an attorney or still works for the city of Allentown. Both Allentown City Hall and the Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office did not immediately respond to a request for comment, and Pennsylvania State Police deferred to the Allentown Police Department as the lead agency. The incident raises questions about the motivation behind Brown’s actions and the implications for race relations and workplace dynamics in Allentown.
