Vermont Manufacturing Extension Center (VMEC) is celebrating its 30th anniversary and has been helping local manufacturers in Vermont for decades. Director and CEO Patrick Boyle and Maple Landmark’s President Mike Rainville recently discussed the state of manufacturing in the U.S. on NBC 5 In Depth. VMEC provides assistance to manufacturers in solving problems and seizing opportunities, helping them become more efficient and effective in their operations. Over the years, VMEC has retained 4,600 jobs and generated $400 billion in increased sales for its clients in Vermont.
Rainville, a client of VMEC since 1996, highlighted how the organization has helped his toy manufacturing business grow and succeed over the years. VMEC’s services, including workshops on lean manufacturing and cost cutting, have been instrumental in his company’s success and ability to manage growth.
