Vermont Habitat for Humanity affiliates are gearing up for their 2nd annual Dome to Home event to address Vermont’s housing crisis. The event, scheduled for May 21 at the Vermont State House lawn, will involve volunteers working together to build wall sections for a new home in Manchester Center.
Last year, the event resulted in the construction of a home in Barre, Vermont. This year, the focus is on building a high-performance energy-efficient home in Manchester Center to provide a safe and efficient housing solution for a family in need. Partner homeowners will also contribute to the construction of their new home.
The event aims to draw attention to Vermont’s housing shortage and the importance of affordable home ownership in addressing this issue. By showcasing community spirit and hands-on solutions to the housing crisis, Habitat for Humanity hopes to inspire more involvement and support from the community.
The wall raising ceremony is open to the public, with registration required for volunteers interested in participating. Sponsorship opportunities are also available for those looking to support this cause.
