Vermont-based Lake Champlain Chocolates (LCC) has partnered with Fair Trade USA to support the sustainability of cocoa farms in Peru. The company has announced the recipients of their 2025 Fair Trade Microgrants, which will benefit two farming cooperatives in Peru. A portion of sales from LCC’s Fair Trade Certified Signature Bars will go towards funding agroforestry programs that will plant over 46,000 trees in the region.
The initiative is aimed at combatting the impact of climate change on cacao and coffee farming communities in Peru. By restoring vegetation, mitigating climate change, promoting biodiversity, and conserving water resources, the project seeks to build a more sustainable future for the cacao industry.
