Protesters gather near Vermont ski resort to voice opposition to Vance

Crowds gathered to protest Vice President JD Vance near a Vermont ski resort where he planned to vacation with his family. Many demonstrators expressed support for Ukraine, while others waved Palestinian flags or signs in support of immigrant rights. The protests took place on both sides of Route 100 in Waitsfield, energized by a recent Oval Office exchange between Vance, President Donald Trump, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

The demonstrations were peaceful, both along the roadways and at the resort where Vance and his family were staying. While some protesters called for Vance to “ski Russia,” others supported him with a welcome rally. Vermont Governor Phil Scott urged residents to be respectful, emphasizing that Vance was on a family trip with his children.

The resort spokesman confirmed there were a handful of peaceful protesters throughout the day, but no disruptions occurred. Messages left for White House officials were not returned, and Vance himself did not comment on the protests. Overall, the protests highlighted the ongoing tensions surrounding foreign policy, particularly regarding Ukraine and Russia. Despite political differences, Governor Scott emphasized the importance of remaining respectful towards the Vice President and his family during their time in Vermont.
