Vermont native Timofei Spitserov has signed an amateur tryout agreement (ATO) with the ECHL’s Norfolk Admirals, the team announced on Thursday.
Spitserov, who hails from South Burlington, Vermont, is a 22-year-old forward who recently completed his collegiate career at the University of Vermont. In his senior season with the Catamounts, Spitserov tallied 10 points in 25 games.
“We are excited to have Timofei join our team for the remainder of the season,” said Admirals head coach Rod Taylor. “He is a skilled forward who brings speed and playmaking ability to our lineup.”
Spitserov’s signing with the Admirals marks a significant milestone in his hockey career. The ECHL is considered one of the premier professional hockey leagues in North America, serving as a feeder league for the American Hockey League (AHL) and the National Hockey League (NHL).
“I am thrilled for this opportunity to continue playing the game I love at the next level,” Spitserov said in a statement. “I am grateful to the Admirals organization for giving me this chance to prove myself and contribute to the team’s success.”
The 6-foot-1, 190-pound forward will be looking to make an immediate impact with the Admirals as they push for a playoff spot in the ECHL’s Eastern Conference. Norfolk currently sits in sixth place in the conference standings with a record of 12-14-2.
Spitserov will join his new teammates in Norfolk for the remainder of the season, as he aims to showcase his skills and earn a more permanent contract with the Admirals or another professional team in the future.
