Apply now for Farm to School and Early Childhood Vision Grants

The Vermont Agency of Agriculture, Food, and Markets (VAAFM) is offering grant funds to support farm to school and early childhood programming in Vermont. The Farm to School and Early Childhood Vision Grant aims to expand innovative work in school communities, strengthen support services, and reach underserved populations. Eligible recipients include schools, early childhood educators, afterschool programs, and non-profits working with the Vermont Farm to School and Early Childhood Network. A total of $275,000 is available for awards ranging from $10,000 to $60,000. The program, established in 2006 by the Vermont State Legislature, seeks to develop farm-to-school initiatives that promote relationships with local farmers, enhance students’ educational experiences, improve children’s health, and boost the state’s agricultural economy. Applications are due on April 10th, and interested applicants can attend an informational webinar on March 12th for more information. This initiative aligns with Vermont’s commitment to promoting sustainable agriculture and providing access to local food for schools and early childhood programs.
