The Vermont Jazz Center is set to host Huntertones, a highly energetic and innovative sextet of musicians, this Saturday, March 8, at 7:30 p.m. The band, which has traveled to over 25 countries and collaborated with musicians worldwide, blends funk, gospel, hard bop, and straight-ahead jazz in their compositions. They also enjoy creatively arranging popular tunes from artists like Michael Jackson and Stevie Wonder. With influences from jazz legends like Sonny Rollins and Art Blakey, Huntertones brings a unique and dynamic sound to the stage.
The Vermont Jazz Center expressed gratitude for the sponsorship of Dave Snyder of Guilford Sound, which allows for reduced-price admission and free entry for local music students. Additional support from the Vermont Arts Council and the National Endowment for the Arts has been crucial in sustaining the VJC’s mission. Publicity for the event is underwritten by the Brattleboro Reformer and the Commons.
Tickets for the show are $25+ for general admission, with educational discounts available. They can be purchased online at www.vtjazz.org or by contacting the Vermont Jazz Center directly. Handicapped access information is also available by calling the VJC ticket line. Don’t miss out on an unforgettable night of high-energy, horn-driven music by Huntertones at the Vermont Jazz Center.
