Students from the CHS Ski and Board Club embark on trip to Vermont – GantNews.com

The Clearfield High School Ski and Board Club recently embarked on an exciting ski trip to Killington Ski Resort in Vermont. Led by ski advisors Denise McGranor and Jason Bowman, 29 students ranging from 9th to 12th grade enjoyed two days of skiing on the vast terrain of Killington. The resort boasts 73 miles of ski terrain, 155 trails, and 21 lifts, making it the largest ski resort in the northeastern United States.

During their trip, the students also had the opportunity to connect with other ski clubs staying at the resort, enjoying pizza parties and bowling nights. This marked the second trip to Killington for the Clearfield Ski and Board Club, with plans for another trip in 2027. Additionally, the club organizes regular trips to Holiday Valley in New York and Vermont every other year.

The students’ trip not only provided a fun getaway but also valuable skiing experience on the diverse trails of Killington. As they return to Pennsylvania, the Clearfield High School Ski and Board Club looks forward to their next adventure on the slopes.

In other news, the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources is encouraging forest landowners to plan ahead for spring spongy moth treatment. This proactive approach will help protect Pennsylvania’s forests from the destructive impact of spongy moth infestations. Landowners are advised to contact the DCNR for more information and assistance in planning for effective treatment measures.
