‘Saturday Night Live’ brings back Trump-Zelenskyy confrontation, featuring Mike Myers as Musk

In the latest episode of “Saturday Night Live,” the show wasted no time addressing the recent clash between the presidents of the United States and Ukraine. James Austin Johnson portrayed President Donald Trump, with Bowen Yang as Vice President JD Vance, in a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The skit included Marcello Hernández as Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

During the meeting, Trump invited Zelenskyy to show some love for Russian President Vladimir Putin, despite ongoing conflicts between Russia and Ukraine. Yang’s Vance criticized Zelenskyy for not thanking the United States and for not acknowledging their supposed handsomeness. Vance claimed to have expertise on the situation, having visited Ukraine on Google Maps.

The skit also featured Mike Myers as Trump advisor Elon Musk, who carried a chainsaw and called for the legalization of comedy. Musk joked about firing nonessential employees like air traffic controllers to increase efficiency.

Overall, the episode was filled with satirical humor and commentary on current political events, as “SNL” often does. Shane Gillis hosted the episode, with Tate McRae as the musical guest. The show airs on NBC, which is a division of NBCUniversal, the parent company of NBC News.
