New Wish Discovery Theater opened by Make-A-Wish Vermont

Make-A-Wish of Vermont and Northeast New York have opened a new Wish Discovery Theater at their headquarters in Shelburne. The theater features comfortable bean bags and a 180-degree immersive screen, and is the first stop for Make-A-Wish kids when they arrive. The goal is to help kids brainstorm their biggest wish by watching an animated movie called “Wishes Are Medicine,” based on the experiences of a local wish child.

The theater was made possible by a $125,000 donation from the Vermont Construction Company, who spent nine months building out the space. The director of communications for Make-A-Wish of Vermont and Northeast New York, Emily Malley, stated that the theater is meant to inspire and uplift kids facing life-threatening illnesses, letting them know they are not alone.

Make-A-Wish Vermont typically grants between 40 and 50 wishes a year. This new space will help kids start their wish journey by providing a fun and immersive experience that encourages them to think about what they want their wish to be. The Wish Discovery Theater aims to energize and inspire kids to keep fighting through challenging medical experiences.

The unveiling of the Wish Discovery Theater is a significant addition to the Make-A-Wish Vermont and Northeast New York headquarters, providing a crucial space for wish kids to begin the process of making their dreams come true.
