Luka Dončić recorded a triple double in his first game against his former team, the Dallas Mavericks, leading the Los Angeles Lakers to a 107-99 win. Despite facing constant double teams, Dončić scored 19 points, dished 12 assists, and collected 15 rebounds. LeBron James led the Lakers in scoring with 27 points. Kyrie Irving scored 35 points for the Mavericks in a losing effort. The Lakers were without Anthony Davis, acquired in the trade for Dončić, who has been sidelined with a thigh injury since Feb. 8. After the game, Dončić admitted to feeling emotional about playing against his old team and expressed relief that the game was over. The Lakers and Mavericks will face off again on April 9 in Dallas, giving Dončić another opportunity to play against his former team.
