A rare Ferrari 250 LM model, which won the 1965 Le Mans 24 Hours race, was recently sold at auction in Paris for EUR 34.9 million. This exceptional car, driven by Masten Gregory and Jochen Rindt, secured Ferrari’s sixth consecutive victory at Le Mans. The vehicle, which has been on display at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum, was offered for sale by Sotheby’s and fetched a record-breaking sum for the 250 LM model. This specific Ferrari is the only one built during Enzo Ferrari’s era to compete in six 24-hour races, including multiple appearances at Le Mans and the 24 Hours of Daytona. The buyer of this historic car remains anonymous. The vehicle comes with extensive documentation, including Le Mans papers from 1965, 1968, and 1969, as well as ownership records from Luigi Chinetti. This sale follows the record-setting purchase of a Ferrari 330 LM/250 GTO in 2023 for USD 51.7 million. The Ferrari brand continues to captivate collectors and enthusiasts with its iconic racing heritage.
