The University of Vermont Men’s Soccer team was celebrated in a championship parade in Burlington on Sunday. The parade attracted thousands of fans and supporters who gathered to honor the Catamounts’ 2024 National Championship win. The parade started on Main Street near the Flynn Theatre, with onlookers cheering as the team made their way up Church Street to the main stage at the top of the street.
The energy at the parade was infectious, with fans of all ages showing their support for the team. Following the parade, a celebration took place where accolades were shared by various speakers including Vermont Governor Phil Scott, Burlington Mayor Emma Mulvaney-Stanak, UVM Interim President Patricia Prelock, and UVM Men’s Soccer Coach Rob Dow. Team members like Adrian Schulze Solano, Nick Lockermann, Zach Barrett, and Yaniv Bazini were also praised for their contributions to the team’s success.
The crowd enjoyed video messages from the Vermont congressional delegation, as well as players Lou Liedtka and Max Murray. Additionally, well wishes from popular Vermont-based bands Phish and Ben and Jerry’s added to the festive atmosphere of the event.
