Utah Lacrosse Faces Vermont in New Hampshire

The University of Utah lacrosse team will be facing off against the University of Vermont Catamounts in a game at the New Hampshire Sports Dome due to unexpected weather. The game will take place on Friday, February 21 at 11 a.m. MT. Unfortunately, there will be no live stream or live stats available, but the box score will be provided on UtahUtes.com after the game.

The Utes, in their seventh year as a Division I program, have a strong record of 47-35 under Head Coach Andrew McMinn. They are coming off a successful run in the ASUN conference, with three consecutive regular season titles and two back-to-back championships. Additionally, two Utes received ASUN preseason awards, with junior Ryan Stines named preseason Attack of the Year and senior Cody Hart named preseason Midfielder of the Year. Utah has also been ranked as the top team in the preseason ASUN Coaches Poll for the fourth consecutive year.

In their previous game against the University of Denver, the Utes put up a tough fight in a 10-8 loss. Despite outshooting the Pioneers, they couldn’t hold them off in the fourth quarter. Sophomore Cade Faulkner led the team with a hat trick, while freshman Luke McNamara scored the quickest goal of the season for the Utes. Junior Nikko DiPonio and Tyler Kloeckl put in strong defensive efforts with ground balls and caused turnovers.

Fans can stay updated on the team’s progress by following them on social media (@UtahLacrosse on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook).
