VPA Hall of Fame announces new class inducted | Sports


The Vermont Principals’ Association has announced the inductees for the Hall of Fame class of 2025, recognizing outstanding student-athletes, coaches, officials, media members, and administrators. The class includes legends such as Don Allard, Elizabeth Burnham, Lou DiMasi III, Dalyn Drown, Karin Dwyer, Ben Gilbert, Byron “BJ” Robertson, Ben Shungu, Richard “Bert” Berthiaume, Arlan “Chip” Langmaid, Michael Clark, George Cook, Brent Curtis, and Dave Cobb.

The inductees have had remarkable careers in sports, showcasing exceptional talent and dedication. Don Allard was a standout in football and track & field, while Elizabeth Burnham excelled in basketball and field hockey. Ben Shungu and Byron “BJ” Robertson were basketball stars, while Ben Gilbert’s athletic versatility spanned football, basketball, and baseball. Richard “Bert” Berthiaume and Arlan “Chip” Langmaid have had remarkable coaching careers and Michael Clark and George Cook have been distinguished officials.

Brent Curtis, a legendary sports broadcaster, has been selected for his contributions to covering high school basketball games, connecting communities through radio broadcasting. Dave Cobb, a former basketball official, school principal, and VPA administrator, has been recognized for his exceptional service to Vermont education.

The Hall of Fame induction ceremony will take place on May 16 at the Capitol Plaza Hotel and Conference Center in Montpelier. Tickets for the event can be purchased through the VPA website or by calling the VPA office.
