Chatham Police arrested Tracy Douse, a 42-year-old man from Vermont, after a reported road rage incident on Route 28. The incident occurred just after 4 p.m. when a driver reported being threatened by Douse, who was allegedly armed with a firearm. The victim provided descriptions of Douse and his vehicle to the police, who later saw the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. During the arrest, a loaded Glock 19 handgun was recovered from Douse’s vehicle. Douse has been charged with assault with a dangerous weapon, possession of a large capacity firearm, possession of a large capacity feeding device, illegal possession of ammunition, and disorderly conduct. He is expected to be arraigned in Orleans District Court.
