A 64-year-old Barre City man, John Doucette, is facing charges after allegedly assaulting staff at the Central Vermont Medical Center on February 17, 2025. The Berlin Police Department responded to reports of a patient assaulting staff members and identified Doucette as the suspect. In addition to physically assaulting the staff, Doucette also made threats towards them while he was a patient at the facility. He has been issued a citation to appear in Vermont Superior Court- Washington Criminal Division on April 3, 2025.
