Vermont Catamounts to Face New Hampshire Wildcats in America East Conference Opener
The Vermont Catamounts (7-8) will kick off their America East conference schedule with a road game against the New Hampshire Wildcats (2-13) on Saturday at 1 p.m. ET. The game will air on ESPN+ and fans can listen on the Vermont Sports Network.
The Catamounts are coming off a historic 121-37 victory against Elms College, the largest point differential win in UVM Men’s Basketball history. Seven players scored in double digits in that game, with Ileri Ayo-Faleye leading with 19 points. TJ Hurley leads UVM in scoring, averaging 14.5 points per game.
Vermont ranks 41st in blocks per game and 75th in free throw percentage. They have a strong defense, allowing only 65.7 points per game and ranking first in the America East.
On the other hand, New Hampshire is 2-13 on the season and was recently defeated by Iowa. The Wildcats rank 150th in three-point defense, with junior guard Anthony McComb III leading in scoring.
This will be the 164th matchup between Vermont and New Hampshire, with the Catamounts currently on a four-game winning streak against the Wildcats. New Hampshire was picked to finish 9th in the America East Preseason Poll.
