Crowds gather on Church Street Marketplace to celebrate Men’s Soccer National Title


The University of Vermont Men’s Soccer team celebrated their 2024 National Championship win with an estimated crowd of 4,000 at the Church Street Marketplace on Sunday afternoon. The Championship Parade, presented by EastRise Credit Union and broadcast live on WCAX, featured players, staff, and sponsors processing up Church Street and distributing co-branded merchandise to fans.

At the Top Block of the marketplace, guests heard from Director of Athletics Jeff Schulman, UVM President Patty Prelock, Burlington Mayor Emma Mulvaney-Stanak, and Governor Phil Scott, who commended the team for their achievements and impact on Vermont. Mulvaney-Stanak even declared January 26, 2025 as “University of Vermont Men’s Soccer Team Division I National Champions Day” in Burlington.

Players Nick Lockermann, Adrian Schulze Solano, Yaniv Bazini, and Zach Barrett expressed their gratitude to fans for their unwavering support throughout the season and tournament, especially during the Final Four. Coach Rob Dow was presented with a Green Mountain Boys flag by Brig. Gen. Henry Harder from the Vermont National Guard.

EastRise Credit Union was recognized as the presenting sponsor of Vermont soccer. The event was a resounding success and will surely be remembered by the team and fans alike for years to come.
