#13 BU Successfully Defeats Vermont with Strong Third Period

The 13th-ranked Boston University men’s hockey team defeated Vermont 7-4 in a Hockey East game on Saturday evening. First-year forward Cole Eiserman scored his first career hat trick, helping BU secure the win with four third period goals. Head Coach Steve Wiedler expressed frustration with the officiating but commended his team for battling through the challenges. Vermont opened the scoring, but BU quickly responded and took the lead in the second period. Despite Vermont’s efforts to cut the lead, BU scored two power play goals early in the third period to regain control of the game. The victory earned Community Bank N.A. a $300 donation to Special Olympics Vermont as part of a season-long goal donation initiative. Multi-point performances from Sebastian Törnqvist, Michael La Starza, Will Zapernick, and Massimo Lombardi highlighted the game. The Catamounts now look ahead to a two-game series against Northeastern at Gutterson Fieldhouse, with special events planned for fans including Community Bank Night to support Special Olympics Vermont and Green Out the Gut presented by Casella. Both games will be broadcast live on WVMT and ESPN+, providing fans with an opportunity to support the team and enjoy exciting collegiate hockey action.
