Maine’s solid defense carries them to victory against Vermont


The University of Maine women’s basketball team extended its win streak to five games with a 45-39 victory over Vermont, ending Vermont’s seven-game win streak. Maine dominated in the paint, outscoring Vermont 28-16 in that area. Sarah Talon and Asta Blauenfeldt led Maine with 11 points each, while Caroline Bornemann and Caroline Dotsey also contributed to the win. Maine held Vermont to just three points in the fourth quarter, leading to their victory. The Black Bears made key offensive adjustments and limited Vermont to 36.4% shooting from the floor.
