Vermont State Police conducted a drug raid in Bethel, resulting in the arrest of nine individuals and the seizure of illegal narcotics, multiple guns, and a grenade launcher. The raid was part of an investigation into a cocaine and fentanyl ring that operated across several counties. Police seized over a kilogram of drugs, including a homemade “ghost gun,” two sawed-off shotguns, and various other firearms. The suspects also face animal cruelty charges due to animals living in unsanitary conditions on the property. Richard Boles and India Tweedie, both of Bethel, were among those arrested on gun, drug, and animal cruelty charges.
The other individuals arrested on drug and firearm charges were Andrea Veroneau, Moses Gardner, Tyler Taitague, Matthew Gilbert, Anthony Gunn, LaQuonne Thames Jr., and LaQuonne Thames Sr. All suspects are being held at Southern State Correctional Facility without bail and will appear in court on Friday afternoon. NBC5 is sending a team to Bethel to provide further updates on the situation.
