Olympic badminton star PV Sindhu is set to embark on a new journey as she prepares to tie the knot with Venkata Datta Sai on December 22 in Udaipur. The announcement of her wedding follows her recent victory at the Syed Modi International tournament. The wedding festivities will kick off on December 20, with a reception planned for December 24 in Hyderabad.
Sindhu, a double Olympic medallist, has been a key figure in Indian badminton along with Saina Nehwal. Her achievements include a silver medal at the Rio Olympics in 2016 and a bronze at the Tokyo Olympics in 2020. She has also won gold at the World Championships and the Commonwealth Games. The upcoming wedding is expected to be a grand affair, with top celebrities and sporting stars likely to attend.
Sindhu has personally started inviting guests to her wedding, with cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar becoming the first recipient. The guest list is yet to be revealed, but it is anticipated that the entire Indian badminton community will be present. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other political figures are also expected to attend if their schedules allow.
Venkata Datta Sai, Sindhu’s fiancé, is an IT professional currently working as an Executive Director at Posidex Technologies. He has a background in accounting, finance, data science, and machine learning. Datta Sai also had an internship with an Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise. Overall, Sindhu’s impending nuptials promise to be a joyous occasion celebrating the union of two accomplished individuals.
