As Election Day approaches, Vermont and Northern New York are gearing up for a historic presidential election and consequential statewide races. Vermont voters will cast ballots for federal and state offices, including the president, U.S. senator, governor, and seats in the state Legislature. Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris and Republican former President Donald Trump are on the ballot, along with seven third-party candidates, including Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
In New York, the state, which leans Democratic, is still a major priority for Republicans on Election Day. Former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris are competing for New York’s 28 electoral votes. New York voters will also decide on a ballot measure called the “Equal Rights Amendment,” which aims to prevent discrimination based on pregnancy, pregnancy outcomes, and reproductive healthcare and autonomy. Poll closing time in New York is 9 p.m. ET.
In New Hampshire, a battleground state, voters will cast their ballots for the presidential election, as well as for key races such as the U.S. Senate and governor. Former President Donald Trump, Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris, and two third-party candidates are on the ballot. Poll closing times in New Hampshire vary depending on the municipality.
