Local Musicians Unite for Charity Concert in South Burlington

SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. — Local musicians will join forces this Thursday, December 12, for the 12th annual "Home for the Holidays" benefit concert at Higher Ground, aiming to raise funds for two vital nonprofit organizations. Curated by Troy Millette & the Fire Below, this festive event features performances from Frankie White, Forest Station, and Ryan Sweezey & The Midnight Walkers.

Proceeds from the concert will benefit Special Olympics Vermont and Northwestern Counseling & Support Services, a human services provider in Franklin and Grand Isle Counties. "I love organizations that promote accessibility for all demographics in our community," Millette stated in an interview with NBC5 News. He emphasized that the music scene can play a significant role in inclusivity for individuals with various challenges, including neurodivergence and physical disabilities.

Tickets for the concert are priced at $20 in advance or $25 on the day of the event, available at the Higher Ground box office. As Millette noted, “As much funding and time as these organizations receive, it’s never enough.” The concert aims to provide essential support, acknowledging the ongoing need for resources in the community.

This year’s concert marks its second year at Higher Ground after relocating from venues in Franklin County, further solidifying its place as a cherished holiday tradition. The lineup of local talent promises to create an uplifting atmosphere as they work together to support these important causes.

Attendees are encouraged to buy tickets early to contribute to a worthy cause while enjoying an evening filled with music and community spirit.
