The Vermont men’s basketball team suffered a 65-50 loss to Yale in New Haven, Connecticut. TJ Hurley led the Catamounts with 21 points, including a career-high five three-pointers. Despite a strong effort from Hurley, Vermont struggled on the offensive end throughout the game. Head coach expressed confidence in the team’s ability to improve as the season progresses.
The game started with Yale going on an 8-0 run and hitting two three-pointers. Vermont fought back, taking its first lead with a Shamir Bogues layup. However, Yale went on a 21-5 run in the second half to secure the win. Hurley’s impressive performance was not enough to overcome Yale’s strong offense.
In addition to Hurley’s standout performance, Ileri Ayo-Faleye contributed defensively with three blocks, while Noah Barnett had two steals. Sean Blake recorded seven rebounds and four assists, and Shamir Bogues added 12 points for the Catamounts.
Looking ahead, Vermont will travel to Colgate on December 15 for their next game. The matchup will tip off at 2 p.m. ET and will be televised on ESPN+.
