AGC/VT Celebrates 90 Years of Excellence at Annual Meeting and Awards Banquet
The Associated General Contractors of Vermont (AGC/VT) marked a significant milestone with its 90th anniversary during the 2024 Annual Meeting and Best Builder Awards Banquet, held on December 3-4 in Burlington. The event reaffirmed AGC/VT’s steadfast commitment to the construction industry in Vermont.
Kicking off with a virtual session on December 3, Senate Peter Welch delivered the opening keynote, discussing pressing topics including government relations, economic forecasts, and investments in safety and mental health. The following day, attendees convened at the Hilton Burlington Lake Champlain for in-person discussions on critical issues such as legal contracts and operational safety.
During the meeting, AGC/VT welcomed John Casella II from Casella Construction as the new President, succeeding Jason Sicard, who was recognized for his service. This transition reflects the association’s dedication to maintaining high standards in Vermont’s construction sector.
The event culminated in an Annual Dinner and Awards Ceremony, where AGC/VT granted the Best Builder Awards, celebrating excellence across various project categories including innovation and historical reconstruction. Attendees could also participate in AGC/VT’s popular raffle, featuring a mini bike as the grand prize, won by Zack Thompson from Casella Construction. The raffle fostered camaraderie among members and added an element of fun to the festivities.
As AGC/VT looks ahead to 2025, it encourages member suggestions for next year’s raffle prizes and remains focused on its mission to support the construction industry through education, advocacy, and community engagement. With gratitude for a successful 2024, AGC/VT aims to elevate its standards and achievements in the year to come.
