Plymouth Community Fund Seeks Support This Holiday Season

Plymouth, VT – The Plymouth Memory Tree Community Fund is reaching out to the community this holiday season, inviting residents to contribute and support local families in need. Established in 1991 to honor Eliane Sailer, the fund has become a crucial resource, offering financial assistance for residents facing hardships.

In 2023, the fund helped local families cover various expenses, including post-flood driveway and vehicle repairs, property taxes, and other urgent needs. Annually, it typically assists 5 to 10 households and grants approximately $5,000, a sum that increased significantly during the flood relief efforts of 2011 and 2023.

The Memory Tree Fund also awards academic scholarships for high school seniors in Plymouth. While the traditional lighting ceremony has been put on hold this year, contributions are still welcome to honor or memorialize loved ones, with their names displayed at the town office and in the Plymouth Press.

Residents wishing to contribute can send donations to the Plymouth Memory Tree Community Fund at P.O. Box 47, Plymouth, VT 05056. Donations are tax-deductible under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

For those in need of assistance, queries can be directed to directors Anne Brown, Karen Bruyn, Robert Fishman, or Jennifer Flaster, who can provide application forms via email or hard copies at the Plymouth Municipal Building.

As the holiday season approaches, the Plymouth Memory Tree Community Fund wishes the community warmth and joy while encouraging support for neighbors in need. Join us in making a difference this season.
