The University of Vermont women’s soccer team extended their win streak to four games with a 3-1 victory over Stonehill in their non-conference season finale. Vermont improved their record to 5-1-3, while Stonehill dropped to 1-7-0. Emma Warren, Bailey Ayer, and Kate Bossert scored for the Catamounts, with Sydney Remington adding another goal. Hannah Anselmo scored for Stonehill in the 84th minute. With the win, Vermont Mutual Insurance Group will donate $100 to the Vermont Children’s Trust Foundation. The Catamounts will now focus on their upcoming conference opener against New Hampshire on September 22.
Coach Kristi Huizenga commended her team’s performance and is looking forward to starting conference play after a successful non-conference schedule. Players such as Ayer, Bossert, and Remington had standout performances in the game, contributing to the victory. Olivia White played a team-high 90 minutes, while Warren provided two assists in the match.
The team is gearing up for their next game against New Hampshire and is excited to start conference play. In addition, the University of Vermont Athletics and the University Licensing Department are partnering with Nike and BSN Sports to make sport-specific gear available to fans.
