Body Believed to be Missing Woman Found After Swanton House Fire

SWANTON, VT – Tragedy struck in Swanton, Vermont, as state police announced the discovery of a woman’s body following a devastating house fire that occurred on Wednesday. The fire, reported by 81-year-old Normand Lussier around 1:00 p.m., resulted in the total destruction of the residence. Normand informed authorities that he could not locate his girlfriend, 78-year-old Constance Hall, during the chaos.

Emergency crews rushed to the scene, but unfortunately, they were unable to save the home, which eventually collapsed under the fire’s intensity. After the flames were extinguished, investigators discovered a body in a bedroom that is believed to belong to Hall. Additionally, the body of her dog, Rosie, was found alongside her.

The deceased have been transported to the Medical Examiner’s Office in Burlington for an autopsy to confirm their identities and determine the cause of death. Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the fire and have stated that, at this time, there is no evidence suggesting any form of “direct human involvement” in the incident.

The community is mourning the loss of Constance Hall, and the investigation into the tragic event remains ongoing as officials seek to determine the origin of the fire.
