Speedway Children’s Charities Distributes $120,000 to New England Organizations
MANCHESTER, N.H. — The holiday spirit was alive at The Palace Theatre on Wednesday as the New Hampshire Chapter of Speedway Children’s Charities (SCCNH) held its 15th annual Grant Distribution Ceremony, awarding $120,000 in grants to 36 local nonprofit organizations. This funding will directly impact 18,932 children across New England.
David McGrath, Executive Vice President and General Manager of New Hampshire Motor Speedway (NHMS), expressed his gratitude towards NASCAR fans whose donations continue to support the charities. “It’s a really great feeling. There’s nothing like giving during the holiday season,” McGrath said.
Since its establishment in 2009, SCCNH has distributed over $2.1 million, aiding nearly 1.5 million children within the region. Danielle Cyr, SCCNH New Hampshire Chapter Director, noted the hard work and enjoyment of the fundraising efforts, adding, “It feels so good to be able to give these organizations their funding.”
Among the beneficiaries are various organizations from New Hampshire, Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island, including Advantage Kids, Friends of Aine, and Camp Courant.
In 2024, SCC joined other chapters across the nation to distribute over $4 million in total, raising the cumulative support since 1982 to more than $72.6 million. The funds stem from multiple events, including the Gift of Lights holiday attraction and community challenges.
Looking ahead, SCCNH has already begun fundraising for the 2025 grant cycle, continuing its mission to improve the lives of children facing educational, financial, social, and medical challenges.
