Jay Guo honored as IEEE Fellow for advancements in nanoimprint technology

Professor Jay Guo, a world-renowned researcher in the field of nanoimprint technology, has been recognized for his significant contributions by being elevated to IEEE Fellow, class of 2025. Guo’s innovative work in scalable roll-to-roll nanoimprint technology has had a profound impact on various industries including display, solid state lighting, and biotech. His research accomplishments, such as developing ultra-thin OLEDs and colorful semi-transparent solar cells, have garnered international recognition.

Guo’s contributions extend beyond nanoimprint technologies to include developments in optical metamaterials, flexible organic solar cells, and other continuous-based patterning technologies. His research group has also explored optical nanopatterning using plasmonic and metamaterials structures to achieve resolutions beyond conventional limits.

In addition to his research endeavors, Guo is a passionate educator who has mentored numerous doctoral students and undergraduate researchers. He has also co-founded two successful companies, Zenithnano and Inlight Technology Co., which focus on intelligent electronics, green energy, and nanostructural color technology.

With over 20 U.S. patents and close to 300 journal publications, Guo’s work has received widespread recognition and has earned him an impressive h-index of 91. His latest innovation, OptoGPT, combines AI with optical design to revolutionize the manufacturing of solar cells, telescopes, and other optical components.
