Bailey Ayer Shines for UVM Women’s Soccer, Earns All-Atlantic Region Honors
BURLINGTON, Vt. – The University of Vermont’s women’s soccer team has received notable recognition for the second consecutive year, with midfielder Bailey Ayer being named to the United Soccer Coaches All-Atlantic Region Second Team for her remarkable performance in the 2024 season. This accolade follows her title as the 2024 America East Midfielder of the Year and her place on the America East All-Conference First Team.
Ayer had an impressive season, leading her team with career-high statistics that contributed significantly to Vermont’s offensive strength. She finished the season with a total of 28 points, achieved through 12 goals—also a career high—and four assists. Additionally, she recorded 64 shots, with 26 on target, and scored two game-winning goals, playing a pivotal role in Vermont’s success.
Her dominance was reflected in her individual rankings across the America East Conference, where she claimed the top spots for goals and points, while also ranking second in shots. Ayer’s goals per game (0.67) and points per game (1.56) further highlighted her impact on the field.
Vermont’s team performance also flourished under Ayer’s influence, remaining unbeaten in matches where she scored, with a notable record of 5-0-4. Her standout games included scoring a brace against UAlbany and achieving the first hat-trick for the program since 2005 in a triumphant win over Siena. Her seven-point game against Siena marked the highest single-match points tally in the conference for the season.
