Vermont officially announces Election 2024 results: Quick summary in 1 minute

[ad_1]
Vermont certified the results and winners of the 2024 election, including national and statewide races, except for the lieutenant governor race which will be decided by the legislature in January. A record-breaking 372,885 voters participated in the election. Secretary of State Sarah Copeland Hanzas and representatives from the major parties aided in the certification process. The Progressive Party renewed calls for ranked-choice voting in Vermont, pointing to the lieutenant governor race as an example of how the current system may not always reflect the will of the people. Despite their preference for incumbent David Zuckerman, the Progressive Party does not believe the legislature should overturn the election results in favor of Zuckerman. John Rodgers was confirmed as the winner of the lieutenant governor race. Megan Stewart is a government accountability reporter for the Burlington Free Press.
