The sister of missing 30-year-old Hannah Kobayashi expressed dissatisfaction with the police conclusion that she is a “voluntary missing person.” The LAPD Chief stated that Hannah was seen crossing into Mexico alone and classified the case as a voluntary detachment with no foul play suspected. However, family lawyer Sara Azari and Sydni Kobayashi questioned how such a conclusion could be reached without involving those closest to Hannah in the investigation. Sydni Kobayashi fears that Hannah may be a victim of human trafficking, which differs from the LAPD’s assessment. The family plans to deploy supporters to search for Hannah in Mexico while urging her to reach out and assure her safety. The family also expressed gratitude to the police and stated that the search for Hannah will continue until she is found. Hannah disappeared after landing in Los Angeles from Honolulu and missing a connecting flight to New York City, with concerning text messages being sent to family members. Despite LAPD reports and conclusions, family members remain committed to finding her and ensuring her safety.
