Press Release: Upcoming Events at Hall Gallery and Athenaeum
The Hall Gallery is excited to announce a captivating photography exhibit featuring the works of Jim Tidyman, running through November and December. An artist reception will be held on Wednesday, December 18, from 5-7 PM, offering visitors a unique opportunity to meet Tidyman and discuss his art.
In addition to the photography exhibit, a variety of engaging events are scheduled for adults and youth at the Athenaeum. On Friday, December 6, at 4 and 6:30 PM, the Athenaeum Players will present the beloved holiday classic, It’s a Wonderful Life. Following that, on Wednesday, December 11, at 7 PM, the Vermont Humanities Snapshot Series will explore Cold War-era Vermont as a backdrop for crime fiction, titled Paranoia in the Hills.
Book lovers can enjoy the Good Living Book Club on Friday, December 13, and the Inquisitive Readers Book Club on Thursday, December 19, both offering insightful discussions. Special holiday festivities, including the St. J Sparkles Holiday Celebration on Saturday, December 14, and a Holiday Drop-In featuring Kingdom Mountain Dulcimers on Friday, December 20, will add to the festive cheer.
The Athenaeum is also dedicated to youth programming, with events like “Music Man” Ed Morgan on Fridays, various craft sessions, and kid-friendly yoga classes. The Sparkle Celebration on December 14 will delight children and families alike, while ongoing events such as the Playtime Mixer and Lapsit Storytime provide regular opportunities for community engagement.
