Southwest Vermont Supervisory Union to Host Annual Community Collaboration Night
Bennington, VT – The Southwest Vermont Supervisory Union (SVSU) is pleased to announce its upcoming Community Collaboration Night, set for Tuesday, December 5, from 5 to 6 P.M. at the SVSU Central Office, located at 184 North Street, Suite 1, Bennington. This annual event aims to engage the community in discussions surrounding key grants and the SVSU’s Continuous Improvement Plan.
Participants will gain valuable insights into several important grants that support various programs, including the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance, IDEA B, Project Aware, the Nita M. Lowey 21st Century Community Learning Centers Grant, and Title I, II, and IV. Superintendent James R. Culkeen emphasized the importance of community involvement, stating, "This is an opportunity for our community to learn about how we use grant funds to create programming. We also welcome feedback to inform future grant investments."
The evening will also feature discussions on the SVSU’s Continuous Improvement Plan goals, along with current district data and future state and federal grant strategies. SVSU’s commitment to fostering lifelong learners is reflected in its dedication to including community voices in educational discussions. "We value diverse voices from our community, allowing families to have an active part in their child’s education," noted Director of Student Services Kate Abbott.
For those unable to attend the event, SVSU encourages community members to visit their website at www.svsu.org to access the Continuous Improvement Plan and provide feedback through a form available on the site. This initiative underscores the SVSU’s ongoing effort to engage with families and enhance the educational experience for all students.
