Bulldogs Dominate in 9-1 Victory Against Vermont
DULUTH, Minn. – The fourth-ranked University of Minnesota Duluth women’s hockey team showcased an explosive offense on Saturday, thrashing the University of Vermont 9-1. This decisive win marks the Bulldogs’ fourth consecutive victory, during which they have outscored their opponents a staggering 23 to 2 over the last two series.
Freshman forward Caitlin Kraemer shone brightly in the matchup, netting her first collegiate hat trick along with two assists, contributing a game-high five points. Fellow fifth-year captain Clara Van Wieren opened the scoring with two goals in the first period, while freshman Zoey Krock and Payton Holloway also celebrated their first career goals in the same frame. The game also saw contributions from Danielle Burgen and Nina Jobst-Smith, each recording two assists.
Defenseman Tova Henderson continued her impressive run, adding her sixth goal of the season in the third period. In goal, senior goaltender Tindra Holm secured her third win of the season with a solid performance, making 27 saves.
The Bulldogs, with this latest win, are firmly establishing themselves as a force in women’s college hockey. They are poised to extend their winning streak as they prepare for their final series before the holiday break, heading to St. Cloud to face the Huskies. The puck drop for Game One is scheduled for Friday, December 6, at 3 p.m. at the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center.
