The construction of a Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) facility in Madhurawada IT SEZ in Visakhapatnam is moving forward quickly, thanks to a proposal from Dallas Technology Centre (DTC) to lease its premises to TCS. The state industries and commerce department released a government order approving this proposal. DTC has requested an occupancy certificate, permission to sub-lease the premises to TCS, and an additional 1,600 sqm of space at the original rate. Initially allocated a plot measuring 7,774.90 sqm, DTC plans to facilitate TCS operations and aims to employ 2,000 IT professionals in Phase I.
The Dallas Technology Centre’s request for additional space was reviewed by the State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB), which recommended a special package for DTC following a thorough evaluation. The government has directed relevant departments to expedite project implementation through their heads of departments and public sector units. The proposal received government approval, paving the way for the expansion of TCS operations in the region.
With plans to accommodate more employees and enhance its services, TCS’s expansion in Madhurawada IT SEZ is set to boost the IT sector in Visakhapatnam. The collaboration between DTC and TCS signifies a significant step towards strengthening the IT infrastructure in the region, providing employment opportunities and contributing to the growth of the technology industry. The government’s support and approval highlight its commitment to promoting investment and development in the state’s IT sector.
