Car Collides with Ice Cream Shop Just Before 10th Anniversary Celebration, Injuring Two

CAR CRASH SENDS TWO TO HOSPITAL AFTER COLLISION WITH HILLSBORO ICE CREAM SHOP

HILLSBORO, Ore. – A Thanksgiving morning accident at Jim’s Ice Cream shop left two individuals hospitalized after one vehicle collided with the building. Authorities responded to the scene around 11 a.m. following reports of a crash that also involved a pedestrian.

According to officials, the incident occurred when two cars collided near the ice cream shop, resulting in one vehicle crashing into the building. The impact struck a man who was sitting at a picnic table outside, pinning him under debris. The man suffered multiple broken bones but is currently recovering at a local hospital.

The driver of the car that crashed into the shop was also transported to the hospital, while the other driver received medical evaluation at the scene. In response to ensure safety, first responders set up temporary supports to stabilize the damaged structure, which has been declared uninhabitable.

Jim’s Ice Cream owner reported that the electric company managed to restore power to a large freezer at the back of the store, allowing for the potential salvage of some ice cream stock. However, the incident forced the owners to postpone their planned 10th-anniversary celebration, originally scheduled for Sunday.

This crash has raised concerns regarding safety in the area and left the local community rallying around the shop as they recover from the unexpected incident. Further updates on the condition of the injured individuals and the future of the ice cream shop are expected as investigations continue.
